Conference : BroadBand Europe

BBEurope is a yearly conference, dedicated to BB with presentations of latest results, evolutions and technologies in the field. BroadBand covers however many different disciplines and beside technological results, also socio-economic, techno-economic and regulatory aspects will find a forum here. Presentations from ongoing trials and regional projects give an extra flavour to the conference.

The submission deadline is approaching: September 1st

BBEurope 2007 is organized by the IBBT, hosted by Alcatel-Lucent and endorsed by IET and DSL Forum.

Co-located with BBEurope there will be at least 3 extra workshops:
- "From Access To Metro - A seamless transition" (IET-Workshop)
- "The MUSE Winter-school"
- "QoS Tutorial", prepared by EuQoS project addressing different known technologies and open problems with Internet QoS

BBEurope, together with all of these workshops are unique opportunities for the shaping Broadband for All area in future, including vision, strategies and roadmaps.

Conference : Open Source in ICT 2007

The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation is hosting a three-day event in December devoted to Open Source. It is a must-attend event for ICT giants and start-ups alike. The first day of the conference is reserved for ministers and senior representatives from the public sector, the second day will include speakers from the private and public sector to analyse how open source is bridging the digital divide and the last day of the conference will be devoted to open source in mobile.

Conference : Semantics And digital Media Technologies conference (SAMT)

The 2nd international conference on Semantics And digital Media Technologies (SAMT) will be held in Genova from the 5th to the 7th December 2007, at the Jolly Hotel Marina.

In addition to SAMT, the final workshop of the project AIM@SHAPE will take place on the 4th December, at the Area Della Ricerca of the CNR of Genova.

The international conference on Semantics And digital Media Technologies (SAMT) targets to narrow the large disparity between the low-level descriptors that can be computed automatically from multimedia content and the richness and subjectivity of semantics in user queries and human interpretations of audiovisual media - The Semantic Gap.
